Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Here at Wates, we have an opportunity for an Assistant Surveyor to join our Living Space team in the East Midlands area. As this role is working alongside one of our new social housing partners we are ideally looking for someone with experience in this/from the reactive maintenance sector. Key Accountabilities will include: Produce commercial reports both internally and external to the company Ensure the timely receipt of quotations for materials, equipment and Sub-subcontract works, undertake commercial assessment of quotes received and ensure the timely placement of orders on commercially advantageous terms to facilitate project delivery and ensure business objectives are met. Regularly complete on site measurements/ take offs Ensure all contractual processes are completed on time We are looking for a good work ethic and the ability to work under a Project Surveyor and within a team of Surveyors of different levels of knowledge. Ideally you will have at least 2/3 years already in a similar role and/or have exposure to this field alreadyTo be successful in the role you will be able to liaise with Clients and have the personal skills to create effective relationships with the team.

Payroll Administrator

We have an opportunity for a Payroll Administrator to join our Wates team within our Maintenance Division. You will be based out of our Finsbury Park office working with our payroll team.Key Responsibilities Set up, populating and regular maintenance of spreadsheets Check payroll, gross to net checks Payroll reconciliation Payroll processes and procedures Manual calculations of net pay, grossing up Communicate confidently and effectively at all levels in both written and verbal communicationAlongside the day to day activities we are at the beginning a journey to review all of our processes and ways of working so if you are comfortable with a level of ambiguity and manual input we would welcome your support to help us develop and improve our payroll service over the coming months.To be successful you will be already working in a similar role, or be a fast learner, with confidence in all aspects of administrative tasks.You will also be a confident communicator, value confidentiality and be able to meet tight deadlines.This role is a 6 months Fix Term Contract (FTC) with a scope of going perm after that period.

Shift Engineer

Wates have excellent opportunity for a skilled Electrical Shift Engineer to join our team at the Discovery Communications in Chiswick, London, providing both planned and reactive maintenance to all relevant electrical equipment, controlling and operating of building operational systems, with a clear focus on Energy and the Environment and ensuring compliance to Health & Safety matters in relation to both direct and indirect scope of this role. Technical Service Manager

Title: Technical Services Manager Location: London within M25Job Type: Full TimeContract Type: PermanentWe are looking for an experienced Technical Services Manager to bring expertise to the Client multi-let office sector with the overseeing of Hard FM Services Operations by ensuring that our appointed M&E Service Partner deliver effective asset management into M&E and Building Fabric.This role will have responsibility for technical support for a premium client within JLL’s UK Property and Asset Management / IFM division. The selected assets will be a range of multi-let properties from the office sector.Key Responsibilities: Involvement in Design for Management (DFM) – development & Implementation of client projects, the on-going maintenance and understanding of new systems and technical process Interaction with FM teams through a thorough understanding of Service Level Agreements (SLA) and providing technical advice and support CX Focus through the right selection process, the expectation would be that the TSM would already have a Customer Service Mindset and excellent communication skills Potential conflict resolution skills: e.g., any technical issues arising from Suppliers Occupiers, Client instructed fit outs Provide a level of strategic thinking around Client plans for asset in terms of Planned Maintenance Reports (PMR) /Planned Maintenance Programme (PMP) budgeting advice to surveyors and FMs Expected OutputsThe provision of technical and compliance support to the JLL team in general with the following: Assist with the overall responsibility for ensuring that engineering maintenance has been completed to appropriate standards and contract specifications, this would also include the understanding of SFG 20 tasks under the Condition Based Maintenance (CBM)/ Business for Maintenance (BFM) approach, due for 2023 roll-out on assets which lend themselves to this more cost-effective way of working.We are looking for an individual with a proven solid experience in delivering high quality hard M&E services in a customer focused multi-site environment, and good working knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation. You will have a robust technical background with a professional qualification and practical experience in a trade – Electrical, Mechanical, Gas or F-Gas. Desirable is a BIFM qualification or equivalent, IOSH or NEBOSH certificate and experience in computer PPM management systems (e.g., Concept).To be successful in this role you will have highly effective management skills and be able to communicate clearly and concisely. Alongside this, you will have excellent attention to detail and promote ownership through to closure.
